GENESIS PARENTING SUPPORT
Genesis Parenting Support, or GPS, is Mosaic’s parenting program that walks alongside our families to help guide them as they navigate the future. Families receive education in pregnancy, parenting, and life skills, and baby resources from Mosaic’s Baby Boutique.
MARIA’S STORY
Maria* never imagined she would have an abortion. But when faced with her second unplanned pregnancy, her best intentions were met with
seemingly impossible circumstances.
Maria grew up in a strict Christian home. Her relationship with her family was strained. They were unhappy about her previous unplanned pregnancy and the lack of support caused Maria to consider abortion. She felt like a failure to everyone in her life.
When she visited Mosaic, Maria already had an abortion appointment scheduled. She didn’t really expect Mosaic to help, but nobody else would listen.
Maria sat down with her advocate counselor to talk about her preborn baby. To her surprise, her advocate counselor had a very similar testimony and life story. Maria felt understood and encouraged as they delved into her experience—and for the first time, she heard about how she can be set free from her failures and worries through Christ. Maria asked Jesus to be her Savior.
After seeing her baby on the ultrasound screen, Maria told her advocate “I guess my kids will have the same age gap as yours.”
Her advocate asked, “Does this mean you’re keeping the baby?” Maria burst into tears and said, “Yes!” All she needed was support and unconditional love—and to know that God wasn’t disappointed in her.
After her appointment, Maria signed up for GPS. Without her family’s support, she needed the material help. Maria also had questions about the Bible and desperately needed a sounding board to help her work through her new relationship with her faith and Creator.
Maria continues to visit regularly for GPS appointments as she awaits the birth of her little one, and believes her visit to Mosaic was a divine appointment.

GPS BY THE NUMBERS:
• GPS participation increased 300% since 2022. • 152 families enrolled in GPS program in 2023.
• Over 60% of the families we see speak Spanish. • 14,848 baby items distributed through the program. • 32% increase in men served through GPS.
