Mosaic provides free and confidential medical services to women facing unplanned pregnancies. Our licensed medical staff gives accurate information to every woman who comes to Mosaic so they can leave informed and empowered to make the right decision about their pregnancy.
KELSEY’S STORY
Iguess we’re going to have a baby!”
That’s what Kelsey* exclaimed while she watched her
preborn child wiggle across the ultrasound screen.
But that hadn’t always been Kelsey’s plan.
When she first visited Mosaic Virginia, Kelsey was undecided about the outcome of her pregnancy. She’d recently gone through a difficult season with her toddler and teenager— and was ready to close the book on more kids.
Kelsey didn’t exactly fit the stereotype of someone looking to have an abortion. She had a happy marriage, and she wanted to love her preborn baby. But financial struggles, emotional challenges, and her age all felt like big obstacles.
And with a history of abortion, Kelsey was even more at risk of choosing to simply “take care of the problem.” But God had a different plan.
At Mosaic, Kelsey was able to share her concerns with her advocate counselor. Together, they dug into the obstacles that hindered Kelsey from choosing Life—and they found solutions.
Although not a Christian, Kelsey believes that everything happens for a reason. She began to wonder if maybe the obstacles were smaller than she thought.
...And maybe her preborn child had a purpose she didn’t yet recognize.
That’s when the ultrasound picture changed everything. Watching her baby move across the screen, Kelsey’s heart was touched in a way she couldn’t have imagined. With tears in her eyes, Kelsey said, “I guess we’re going to have a baby!”
And she meant it.
