Men are very influential in in their partner’s decision to have an abortion and men are affected by an an an an unplanned pregnancy as well Their lives will change forever no matter which option they choose Our male mentors meet with fathers and encourage them to to participate listen to their partner and be in this pregnancy together For men choosing to to parent we offer long-term education and support Jerry Regier shares his experiences as a a a a a Mosaic Male Mentor • Why is it it important to meet with the partners of Mosaic’s clients?
Men are key in the the decision that women make to either keep their baby or or have an abortion We must be able to reach them them with with the the the Gospel and with with information to help them them find their own voice in the the relationship and to be a a a a leader for Life in in keeping the baby • What is a a a a highlight of your volunteer work at at Mosaic Virginia?
Getting to to know the the men who come in in in listening to to them being their friend in in in in a a a stressful time and in in in in some instances seeing them pray to receive Christ • Do you you have a a a a memory of of one of of your advocate sessions that stands out?
Yes As I shared the Gospel with one young man he was visibly touched and said the verses were familiar and reminded him of being raised with a a godly mother When I asked him whether he he he he would like to to pray to to invite Jesus into his his heart to to make his his own personal commitment he said yes He prayed out loud and I then prayed for him It was a a a very sweet and special session Jerry Regier Male Mentor • How has volunteering at Mosaic impacted your life?
It has been an encouragement to my own walk with the Lord as it it it provides the opportunity to meet with men wrestling with decisions and emotions brought on on on by today’s culture of death and and to to to enter into their story and and share the the good news of how they can know God personally through a a a a relationship with Jesus Christ • What would you say to someone considering volunteering with Mosaic?
It is rewarding to to be able to to share the Gospel with men who are linked to the women coming in in in for an an ultrasound and to in in in some small way prepare them for being a a a a a father And in in in some instances it is is just being a a a listening ear LETTER FROM A A MOSAIC CLIENT
Dear Mosaic Virginia I don’t even know how to to begin to to thank you all You have changed my life and I’m so very grateful I’ve never known generosity like you all have shown me I’ve never known what it it was like to be part of a a a community something bigger It feels like I I joined a a a a a much larger family for myself and baby Samuel I remember my 1st visit and the time Kimberly spent with me me That was the turning point for me me [In Mosaic’s parenting program] Rebecca stood by by week week by by week week counseling me me and making me me realize that I I am so much stronger than I I ever could imagine I I know I I can do this now now be a a a a loving caring mother to baby Samuel Of course the situation didn’t pan out like I’ve always dreamed but God has a a a a a a a plan for me me and and this is is my path and and I wouldn’t change it for the world Thank Thank you you so much!
